IF you have not yet sent in your sponsorship money from this year's Race for Life in Verulamium Park, it is not too late to do so.

Across the UK this year, 750,000 women took part in the races to raise money for Cancer Research UK, but the charity says one in three women who took part will not get round to sending in their sponsorship.

The fundraising target for the St Albans race is £320,000 and there are still a few weeks left for runners to collect their money and send it in.

Race organiser Rebecca Carey said: "Every penny really does count in helping us to beat cancer.

"If all those women who have yet to send in their sponsorship returned just £5 it would be the equivalent to the cost of running a typical laboratory at the Cancer Research UK London Research Institute for three months."
