BUSINESS Solutions, the workforce development arm of Bury College, is running a basic Urdu for English speakers programme from their base at the town's Link House on Walmersley Road.
The course is intended for people who want to gain a basic understanding of the Urdu language and is ideal for non-Urdu speakers wishing to improve their communication skills with speakers of the language. Employees from the fire service, O2 and Bury library are among those who have been involved in this programme so far.
Greater Manchester Police will be next to benefit from learning basic Urdu.
