IT will be the fourth time that singer-songwriter Sandi Thom has played Pocklington Arts Centre when she takes the stage tomorrow.

At 25, the I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker star has only just started reaping the rewards of her 14-year song-writing career.

But she knows exactly what she wants.

"My aspirations have never changed. I've always wanted to be and do the same thing, " she said.

"At the minute, all I really want is for my second album to be as successful as the first one. People always question the second album, but I think that my second is actually better than the first.

"Apart from that, this year is all about touring.

I've just finished my first European tour, which has done really well. We sold out Paris and Hamburg, and we're going to jaunt around the world."

Sandi, who is from Scotland, but based in London, has recently finished recording the follow-up to debut album, Smile. . .It Confuses People, which is expected to be released this summer.

She might have high hopes for the future, but she's missing a few things while she's on the road.

"I just really miss home comforts, " she said. "Food is definitely one thing you miss. It's always the little things, like when you get ill and you want to get some Nurofen, but not knowing the equivalent of the medicine in that country.

"I can't really say the weather because British weather is so erratic now.

And I do miss standing in a room that doesn't move - you get that when you've gone around so much."
